About Torat Reva Yerushalayim

Torat Reva Yerushalayim provides:

  • Torah study groups for the elderly residents of southern Jerusalem in nursing homes, senior centers and assisted living communities
  • Exciting classes for students of all ages and backgrounds including those with special needs in group homes, synagogues and private residences
  • Tailored study sessions to the schedules and interests of the participants in either English, Hebrew or French

Torat Reva Yerushalayim also:

  • Publishes a weekly Dvar Torah available on the web or via email called Parsha Points 
  • Has special events in the Jerusalem area including Yemei Iyun and concerts
  • Offers a unique Bat-Mitzvah Program for Women of all ages culminating in Jerusalem
  • Encourages those in the diaspora to support the State of Israel

Sharona Margolin Halickman, Torat Reva Yerushalayim's founder and director. BA (Judaic Studies) Stern College for Women, MS (Jewish Education) Azrieli Graduate School, Yeshiva University. Sharona was an ATID fellow and a member of the board of Beit Hillel .Sharona was the first Congregational Intern and the first Madricha Ruchanit at the Hebrew Institute of Riverdale, NY. While working at the Hebrew Institute, Sharona provided religious education and counseling to students of all ages and backgrounds.

Torat Reva Yerushalayim is named for Reva (Rivka Nechama BatSheva) Margolin, grandmother of Sharona Margolin Halickman. Grandma Reva's love of Torah study and commitment to the State of Israel inspired Sharona to found this innovative program; one that enables Torat Yisrael in Eretz Yisrael, Torah study in the State of Israel.
